In response to the EU Directive on e-Invoicing in public procurement, the Irish Government has decided on a sector led e-Invoicing model, using a ‘Build to Share’ e-Invoicing Gateway in each sector and then integrate these gateways with their existing Financial Management System.
The Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) and three local authorities (Counties Monaghan, Kildare, Fingal) will update their ERP systems in order to process eInvoices compliant with the European eInvoicing standard (EN).
LGMA will provide the integration software and will make the eInvoicing gateway (a PEPPOL Access Point) centrally available for the local authority sector by selecting a service provider from a Multi Supplier Framework Agreement. The service provider will also ensure compliance for their solution with the EN.
